Let's Make It Official

Lately, the CarbonBack Foundation has been asked what we’ve been up to since our launch at the end of the last year, so here’s the lowdown.

Early this year, we determined that gaining official Australian government approval as a bona-fide registered charity was key to assuring the public we will always operate with integrity and transparency as we action our strategic plan.

Whilst we already exist as a registered Australian public company with the requisite high integrity internal governance and public reporting obligations, we wanted to pursue official registration as a charity in order to assure our customers, partners, donors and volunteers that their time and money were always put to noble use and that donations and gifts were tax deductible.

Additionally, some of our partners such as the Commonwealth Bank, Apple, Google and Atlassian are able to offer us free or greatly reduced transaction commissions and software licensing fees once we achieve charity registration.

So we are presently focussed on achieving the rigorous requirements of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and hope to provide an update shortly on achievement of our goal.
